With help from our comfort clients, we were able to donate $744.00 to Blessings in a Backpack from our August 2019 campaign.
What Is Blessings In A Backpack?
Blessings In a Backpack is a non-profit organization that provides underprivileged, elementary school children with easy-to-prepare and ready-to-eat food for the weekends. Without this program, many children face going hungry on weekends when not provided with school meals. The consequences of hunger are much more than a growling stomach. Poor nutrition can result in a weaker immune system, increased hospitalization, lower IQ, shorter attention spans, and lower academic achievement.
How To Help?
To help spread awareness and raise money for our friends at Blessings, we turned August 2019 into Blessings in a Backpack month. For every service call, maintenance call, or installation done in the month of August, Jansen’s donated $1 to our local Blessings organization. At Jansen’s we want to help ensure that the children of our communities don’t go hungry. Clients helped us by scheduling their appointments in August and visiting the Blessings website to see how they could get involved: www.effinghambackpack.org.
